Artist Interview – See Watts | New Album, Eastern Standard Time

Read below to meet Chris Watson, also known as See Watts, and make sure you check out his latest album, Eastern Standard Time, posted at the bottom via Spotify.  Show him some love and share his music or shout out on Twitter @SeeWatts87.

Where is home for you?

I’m originally from Flatbush Brooklyn, born and bred. Currently, I reside in NJ.
What artists influenced you?
I would have to say that my sound was influenced by several artists: Rakim (lyrically – he always designed his verses unlike any other MC.  He was/is a gifted writer and that always resonated with me.),  Talib, Jay-Z, Common, Lupe, Nas, Black Thought, Wale –  there’s a reoccurring theme if you haven’t noticed it already –  everyone I’ve named takes painstaking steps to sculpt and build each and every verse they’ve ever written. These guys are pure poets with so much to say. That formula is what I emulate when composing material.
Who would you like to do a collaboration with?
I would like to do a collaborative effort with any of the MC’s previously mentioned. Let me add Mac Miller to this list. I think that he’s dope and under rated!!! From a production stand point, I’d love to work with Pharrel, Kanye, Tone P (Wale’s producer), Justice League. In my eyes, they are at the top of the food chain and I’d DESTROY any beat given to me. Consider that an open invitation, I can be reached @SeeWatts87 on Twitter.
What song will be your single off of Eastern Standard TIme and will you be working on a video?
“In Due Time” will be the single and a video is currently in the works. I’m very excited about that and I can’t wait to begin shooting it.
Who would you like to thank and give a shout out for helping you complete this album?

I’d like to thank my inner circle & council (my wife – Mia, my twin Ar Braf, my brothers Salazar, Miz, Calig, Wali, Bilal. Each person played an intricate role in keeping me focused on the finish line during the entire creative process.  I’d also like to thank my engineer Cidd –  this guy was fantastic and his knowledge of the subtle intricacies in frequencies made all of the difference in the world. I’d like to give a shout to my dudes, Money (Mike R.) & Ray Fig for believing in me from day one and always challenging me, from a business perspective, to think outside of the box. To the countless supporters who have now become fans, thank you for taking that leap of faith.
